THe Mutabazi Family
OUR STORY
As a child, I ran away from an abusive home and lived on the streets of Kampala, Uganda. I survived because a stranger chose kindness when I needed it most. He showed me what it feels like to be seen, heard, and valued—and that changed my life.
As an adult, I knew I wanted to be that person for another child. I never imagined a single man could become a foster dad. Once I discovered I could, I never looked back. Over the years, I've opened my home to more than 47 foster children and adopted five amazing kids. They've taught me that the simple, everyday acts of showing up, listening, and loving without conditions can change a child's future.
That's why I created Now I Am Known. My mission is to help every child know they matter, they belong, and they are never invisible. I believe one caring adult can change the direction of a life because that's exactly what happened to me.
Today, I'm paying forward the kindness that changed my life—so every child has the chance to know they matter.
